What is the Full Form of CFS?

If you are dealing with global trade, import/export, or cargo shipping, CFS stands for Container Freight Station. When goods arrive at a seaport via massive cargo ships, it is chaotic. A CFS is a large, highly secure warehouse facility located near a seaport or inland port. Its primary job is to consolidate and de-consolidate cargo. For example, if you are a small business owner importing just 10 boxes of shoes from China, you cannot rent a massive 40-foot steel shipping container just for yourself. The shipping company will group your 10 boxes inside a container with the goods of 5 other small business owners (this is called LCL - Less than Container Load). When the ship arrives, the container is taken to the CFS warehouse, opened, and the goods are separated so each owner can collect their specific items.
