What is the Full Form of FYM in Agriculture?

In agriculture and farming, the full form of FYM is Farm Yard Manure.

FYM is a completely 100% natural, organic fertilizer created right on the farm.

• It is a decomposed mixture of three main things found daily on a farm:
  1. Animal Dung (mostly cow or buffalo poop)
  2. Animal Urine
  3. Litter (leftover dry straw, dead grass, and agricultural waste used as bedding for the animals in the shed).

• The farmer collects all the dung, urine-soaked straw, and dry leaves every morning and dumps them into a massive, deep pit dug in the ground.
• This mixture is left to rot (decompose) naturally for 4 to 6 months.
• Millions of natural bacteria and earthworms break down this foul-smelling waste into a dark brown, nutrient-rich, earthy-smelling compost. This compost is then spread across the fields before planting seeds.
