Good morning to our respected Principal, beloved teachers, and all my dear friends. Today, we have gathered here to celebrate one of the most beautiful and meaningful festivals of our culture—Guru Purnima. The word 'Guru' is made of two ancient Sanskrit roots: 'Gu' which means darkness or ignorance, and 'Ru' which means the remover. Therefore, a Guru is the divine light that completely removes the darkness of ignorance from our minds and fills it with the brilliant light of knowledge.

This day is celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Ashadha month. It is also known as Vyasa Purnima, marking the birth anniversary of the great sage Maharishi Ved Vyasa. He was the legendary guru who classified the four Vedas and wrote the great epic, the Mahabharata. By celebrating this day, we honor his monumental contribution to human knowledge and spirituality.

In our lives, our parents are our first gurus, teaching us how to walk and talk. But it is our school teachers who truly shape our future. A teacher does not just read from a textbook; a true teacher builds character. They recognize our hidden talents, patiently correct our terrible mistakes, and give us the confidence to face the massive challenges of the real world. Without the strict but loving guidance of our teachers, we would be like a ship lost in the middle of a dark ocean without a compass.

As the great poet Kabir Das beautifully said, if both God and my Guru are standing before me, I will touch the feet of my Guru first, because it was the Guru who showed me the path to God. So today, on behalf of all the students, I fold my hands and express my deepest gratitude to all our teachers. Thank you for your endless patience, your hard work, and your belief in us.
