Historical places are the windows to a country's past. They tell us stories of ancient art, culture, and architecture. Last month, our college organized an educational tour to Agra, giving me the opportunity to visit one of the most famous historical places in the world—the Taj Mahal.

We started our journey early in the morning by bus. The weather was pleasant, and all the students were excited. After a few hours of traveling, we reached Agra. We checked into our hotel, refreshed ourselves, and headed straight to see the magnificent monument.
As we entered through the massive red sandstone gateway, the first glimpse of the Taj Mahal left me spellbound. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, it is entirely constructed of white marble. The monument sits gracefully on a raised platform, surrounded by four tall minarets. The intricate carvings, the beautiful inlay work with precious stones, and the perfect symmetry of the building are a testament to the brilliance of Mughal architecture.
The Taj Mahal is surrounded by lush green gardens divided by water channels, reflecting the monument's beauty. We walked along the pathways, clicking pictures and admiring the view. Our guide told us the history behind its construction, which took over 20 years and thousands of artisans to complete. We stayed there until sunset, watching the white marble change its color to a soft pinkish hue.
A visit to a historical place is always highly educational and deeply inspiring. Seeing the Taj Mahal in person made me feel proud of our country's rich historical heritage. It was an unforgettable experience that etched beautiful memories in my mind forever.
