What is the Right Against Exploitation?

Exploitation means taking unfair advantage of someone for your own benefit, often by treating them cruelly or paying them very little. The Indian Constitution strictly bans such practices through two specific articles: Article 23 and Article 24.

Article 23: Ban on Human Trafficking & Forced Labour

This article prohibits two major crimes:

  1. Human Trafficking (Beggari/Buying & Selling humans): It is illegal to buy or sell human beings (especially women and children) like property for immoral purposes.
  2. Forced Labour (Bonded Labour): It is illegal to force someone to work for free or for very low wages against their will, often to pay off old family debts.

Article 24: Ban on Child Labour

This article protects children.
